Story: Compassion International is a global leader in child sponsorship and works with churches and communities around the world. We began working with Compassion in 2008 with the redesign of their corporate intranet. Since then, we have conducted usability testing and research into internal stakeholders needs as part of the ongoing intranet redesign, a rollout on the Microsoft Office SharePoint platform. In subsequent years we have applied a human-centered design approach to understanding how sponsors engage the organization at live events. Most recently, we completed in early 2020 the design of an app for older beneficiaries to use for writing their sponsors, dramatically increasing the response time and the personal connection between the youth and their sponsor.
